Richard T. "Dick" Feran

Dick was born to parents Joseph and Lauretta Feran in Cleveland, Ohio on May 2, 1948. He graduated from John Caroll University and was self-employed. Dick loved the outdoors, particularly hunting, fishing and golfing. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and Dick loved being with his grandchildren and playing the guitar around the campfires with them. He liked betting on the horses at Northfield race track and also playing black jack. Dick was a member of St. Peter of the Fields Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir with his choir family. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Rootstown and enjoyed his time volunteering at Akron City Hospital. Dick’s most enjoyable time was spent being the best at playing Santa Clause for his kids and grandchildren for the past 30 years.

Surviving Dick is his wife of 43 years, Donna and their children: Suzie Camp, Mike (Faith Curfman) Feran, David (Laura) Feran and Matthew (Jessica) Feran. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren: Joey, Kylie, Danny, Mikey, Debon, Zach, Hunter, Leo, Ryan, Davey, Caden and Ava Grace. Surviving also are his brothers and sisters: Joseph (Karen) Feran, Bill (Margie) Feran, Mary Kay Larson, Jean Ordway, Laurie (Chuck) Reardon and his special aunt Jean Marie Dick. Left also to cherish his memory are his father and mother-in-law Leo and Dorothy Obrst, brothers and sisters-in-laws: Leo and Christy Obrst, Tom and Sue Obrst, Cathie and Dale Harpley and Lisa and Bob Smith along with many loving nieces and nephews.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson Andrew Camp.

Family will receive friends on Monday, November 4, 2013 at the Wood-Kortight-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and also on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the 11:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Father David Misbrener at St. Peter of the Fields Church, 3487 Old Forge Rd., Rootstown, Ohio. Interment will follow at St. Peter of the Fields Cemetery.
