He was born June 29, 1952, in Dearborn, Michigan, to parents William Walter and Lottie Lucretia (Spratt) Johnson, and moved to Akron at a young age. Pete proudly served his country as a veteran of the US Marines Corp. He retired from Edwin Shaw after 35 years of employment, and then went on to work at the Brimfield Walmart for over 10 years. Pete was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Akron, enjoyed golfing, and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan.
Pete is survived by his son Randy Johnson, his brothers Mike (Paula) Johnson and Mark Johnson, his sisters Annette Kuba and Karen (Scott) Wilson, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Cremation has taken place. Friends and family will be received Saturday, October 9, 2021, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM with a memorial service at 11:00 AM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron with Military Honors on Saturday at 2:00 PM.
