Paul Sveda

Paul was born February 24, 1918, on the family farm on Cable Line Rd. a few miles outside of Ravenna. He graduated from Edinburg High School in 1936. Paul operated a dairy farm for several years, until selling the dairy herd in 1955. He later worked in construction.

When the government bought the land surrounding the West Branch Reservoir, Paul and his mother moved to Ravenna. He lived with and took care of his mother until her death at age 97. Paul enjoyed baseball, bowling, and was an avid golfer.

He was preceded in death by his parents Luke and Maria (Wanchick) Sveda, his sister Anna Sekel, brothers Luke, George, John, Steve, Joseph, and Nick Sveda, and 1 niece and 3 nephews. Paul is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Friends will be received Wednesday, July 20, 2011, from 9:30 – 10:30 AM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend John-Michael Lavelle at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church, 409 W. Main St., Ravenna. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
