Monica Marie Knapp

September 9, 1978 – January 19, 2022

Monica Marie Knapp, 43 of Ravenna, OH, went home to be with her Daddy in Heaven on 1/19/22.

Monica was preceded in death by her father Richard Knapp, grandparents Albert and Lorraine Knapp, and cousins Joshua Adam Knapp and Samantha Lorraine (Knapp) Stuckey.

Monica is survived by her mother Vickie (Fox) Knapp, stepmother Linda Knapp, grandparents Richard and Millie Fox, her sister Danielle Thomas, niece Jane and nephew Nicholas, and many, many cousins, aunts, and uncles.

While Monica was born in Akron, OH, she spent most of her early years in Suffield, OH. She was a proud member of the Color Guard in the Royal Guardsmen marching band at Field High School. She graduated high school in 1997 and then graduated from Brown Mackie College in 1999. Monica worked for Homesite Insurance and Allstate Insurance companies, and then was employed at Jo Ann Fabric.

Monica loved playing cards and was a formidable opponent at canasta, euchre, and bidding 500. She was a skilled craft-maker and loved the color purple. She was very independent and loved sharing experiences with her friends and family, and especially enjoyed the younger kids in her big extended family. Monica loved family gatherings and spending time with friends.

A Celebration of Life is planned for later this year. Monica loved roller coasters but was often unable to ride them due to health restrictions. Monica’s wish would be to take yourself to an amusement park and ride the biggest roller coaster you can find and think of Monica and her fun-loving spirit!

Monica always supported the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House Charities. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to one of these charities, or to your local high school band.
