She was born December 14, 1964, in Cando, North Dakota, to parents Waldemar and Elgie (Jacobson) Baerwald. Melody was a strong woman who loved her family. She was a member of Freedom Congregational Church.
She loved her music, the sun, and her cat, Mochie. Melody enjoyed listening to all music, especially the 80’s, Cher, Kid Rock, and Elvis. She also cherished peaceful days soaking up the sun while sitting on her porch or gardening.
Melody is survived by her daughters Tara Smith and Cheyenne (fiancé Dylan) Peterson, her grandchildren: Austin, Hunter, Ciara, and Jace, as well as her siblings: Mark, Sandy, and Kim.
