Mary Elizabeth (Wallow) Wentzell

Mary Elizabeth (Wallow) Wentzell, age 90 of Ravenna, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 15, 2022. She was born July 2, 1932, in Walkertown, Pennsylvania, to parents Mary (Widok) and John Wallow Sr.

Mary met and married pharmacist Bob (Robert K.) Wentzell on December 27, 1952. They moved to Ravenna, Ohio where they built both Triangle Pharmacy and a beautiful family. She called the community of Ravenna home for more than 60 years.

Mary was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Parish. She was a Cub Scout leader, and enjoyed bowling and golf; however, her favorite times were spent in her kitchen baking delicious and beautiful cookies. Her cooking and baking skills were memorable!

Mary was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children: Bob (Debbie) Wentzell and Patricia Wentzell; as well as her grandchildren: Lisa Dawson, Christine Dawson (Erik) Peterson, Robert C. (Brittany) Wentzell and Kathryn Wentzell (Jeffrey) Sanders. Mary was proud to have four great-grandchildren: Jamie, Logan, Leo, and Lukas. She is also survived by her brother John (Nancy) Wallow Jr., and many nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Robert K. Wentzell and daughter Nancy Wentzell Dawson. Also gone, but not forgotten, are her parents, and her sisters Betty Ann Hill, Ruth A. Sanders, and Roberta “Bobbie” Migliozzi.

Friends and family will be received Wednesday, September 21, 2022, from 1:00 – 1:30 PM with Reverend Chad Johnson celebrating her funeral service at 1:30 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
