He was born January 22, 1988 in Ravenna to June (Deffenbaugh) Meduri and Francis (Karen) Meduri. He graduated from Ravenna High School where he loved to play soccer and was captain of the Ravens. He attended Kent State University until enlisting with the Marines in January 2010.
In 2007, Mark met the love of his life, Maria Pozzini, while both playing softball for Allen Aircraft where they worked. They married on October 22, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna. They celebrated their life with many loving family members, friends and fellow Marines. They enjoyed spending time on the beach and dinners together.
Mark loved life and lived each day to its fullest potential. During his school years, he enjoyed football, baseball, wrestling and soccer. He played guitar and loved riding his motorcycle. Even while living in North Carolina, he remained a steadfast fan of the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes. He will be greatly missed by his dogs AK & Bullet.
While in the Marines, he graduated from the School of Infantry. He served in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan from January 2011 until August 2011. He received several ribbons and awards for his service and recently graduated from squad leader training.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mark is survived by brothers Mike and Derek Meduri , step- sister Nicole Mendiola all of Ravenna and grandmother Phyllis Meduri of Brimfield. He was preceded in death by grandparents Herman and June Deffenbaugh, Joseph Meduri Sr, uncle John Byerly Sr. and cousin Veronica Byerly.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, June 24, 2012 from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at the Ravenna High School Gymnasium, 6589 N. Chestnut St., Ravenna. Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Fr. John-Michael Lavelle will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, June 25, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Church, 409 W. Main St., Ravenna. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna.
