Maria Donata (DeFilippis) Bellino

She was born December 9, 1929, in Bitritto, Bari, Italy, to parents Domenico and Francesca (Rubino) DeFilippis. She was their last surviving child, having been preceded in death by her siblings Michelle, Giuseppe, Vittorio, Raffaele, Cecilia, and her infant brother Vito.

On December 10, 1948, she married her beloved Rocco Bellino in Italy. In 1951, she immigrated to the United States, along with their son, Dan (Donato), to rejoin her husband who had immigrated previously. The family initially settled in Suffield, Ohio, moving to Ravenna several years later. Maria proudly became a US Citizen on December 13, 1961.

She was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Parish, and active in the Infant Jesus of Prague Guild. Maria enjoyed cooking and baking. She began selling homemade bread, pizza and sauce to neighbors, and later established Bellino Foods with her husband, selling products through Vale Edge Sparkle Market.

Most of all, Maria loved her family. She was a mother to everyone she met, and later in life, a grandmother who always loved being around children. Maria is survived by her sons: Dan (Lory) Bellino and Dominic (Dawn) Bellino, grandchildren: Rocco Chad (Mary Beth) Bellino, Dan (Tara) Bellino, Rebecca Bellino, Maria Angelina Bellino, and her great-grandchildren: Mikaylee, Max, Pressley, and Aria, as well as many generations of nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her special friends and caretakers: Rita Labajetta, Marcia Trocchio, Curtis Rude, Dr. Emmanuel Yanelli, and close family friend, Joe Giulitto, who was like a brother to her.

In addition to her parents and siblings, Maria was preceded in death by her husband Rocco Bellino in 2008 and her granddaughter Teresa Concetta Bellino in 2020.
