Larry lived in California for 12 years and returned to Ohio four years ago due to health issues, and he then resided with his sister, Donna Rhodes, in Streetsboro, Ohio.
Larry attended Miles Park Elementary School and A. B Hart Junior High School. He attended High School in Kentucky. Larry worked as a printer for Penton Publishing in Berea, Ohio.
Larry was very talented and enjoyed wood-working projects. He created furniture pieces, picture frames, wall decorations, and many other items. He was artistically inclined and was a natural born artist. He could draw and paint anything he envisioned. He taught arts and crafts classes during his time in California. He enjoyed going to the beach, riding horses, swimming, canoeing, hiking, fishing and sightseeing. He loved going to the amusement park and riding the coasters.
Larry was spiritual and he connected with the artistry of his Native American heritage. He loved eagles, wolves, motorcycles, Reese’s cups, milky-ways, and frosty’s from Wendy’s restaurant. He always ordered double hamburger ketchup only.
Larry is survived by his children Jennifer Blevins and Steven Blevins. His grandchildren Julia Mansell, Evan Platko, and Isobel Blevins. Great grandchild Skylar Brown. Beloved brother to Karen (Bob) Nairn, Donna (Bobby) Rhodes, Sheila (John) Kress, Brian (Kim) Blevins, and Lisa Blevins. Uncle to many.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence Edward Blevins Sr. and Monny Lue (Moore) Blevins.
Family will receive friends at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St, Ravenna, Ohio on Sunday, May 21, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Memorial service, officiated by Chaplain William Wisniewski, will begin at 11:00 a.m.
