Hi Kevin.  A year ago today, I got a call and life hasn't been the same.  That day my heart broke.  I've spent the last year trying to heal but I know it will take time.  But you see, it's very difficult for those you left behind.  So many questions unanswered, so many raw feelings, so many hearts broken.  I try to take solace in that I know you are okay now and you truly are at peace, but it's just so hard.  I knew a year ago that this would be devastating to your Mom...I guess I just didn't realize how devastating.  That makes my heart hurt and it makes me want to somehow take this pain away, but I can't...and that makes me very sad.  I stopped to see you today and lay some flowers. At Christmas, I had put Grandma's stocking on and left you a picture of Twix, Twix's picture was gone but I got Grandma's stocking for her.  We miss you.  We love you.

Hi Kevin - I miss you so much and still cannot believe you are really gone. I don't know how the world is still going on as usual. My heart hurts every day. I don't know how to live without you and I don't want to know. All the people say "it will get better" but it does not. When Grandpa Bailey died, Gramma told me that she was "screaming" inside but nobody knows. I now know exactly what she meant. Your Laci Kat is doing so wonderful and so big. She is almost as tall as Leah. And your precious baby boy Liam is absolutely your son. You should see the size of his head! He is so cute, can't get enough. You also have a niece Olivia Rae and she is a tiny, little petite girl. You know how Jess was when she was born. We all miss you. Thanksgiving was last week and we had dinner here but it wasn't the same. Nothing is the same anymore. Sarah is a lost soul right now. I just am thankful that I have your two babies and Jess's baby too. They keep me going day by day. I love you and I miss you so much that my heart is broken and it will never be the same. So I take one day at a time.

Today you would be Uncle Kevin.  Jessie just gave birth to 6 lbs., 20 inches of joy and her name is Olivia Rae.  She'll hear plenty about crazy Uncle Kevin just as she will hear plenty about crazy Great Aunt Judi.  We miss you.  I don't think there's a day that goes by that we don't all think about you and miss you.  Got to see your beautiful kids at Jessie's shower.  Liam was so tiny and Laci just warms my heart. Happy Birthday Kevin.  I remember the day...I was 15 years old and supposed to go to track practice.  Grandma called my coach and said I wouldn't be there, because you were born.  Your mom is still having a really tough time without her baby boy, but we're all trying to help her as we still struggle with it ourselves.  We miss you and we love you!

 We were close for the first years of our lives, 20 of mine to be exact.  I spent all of my spring breaks and summer breaks with you up until I graduated.  After that we still spent time together.  Camping and still going to West Virginia.  We had so much together.  I have so many wonderful memories of you and I and I will hold those close.  I will tell my kids about those some day when I can.  I will never forget about those times and though we chose 2 different paths in life I do still love you and I will always love you.  I am going to picture you with a big smile on your face and saying "Hey Cuz!" to me.

Kevin we had some great times hanging out back in high school.Im going miss you bro.I hope you are in a better place,rest in peace.

Kevin, I sit here and weep as I've read what your mom has written to you.  I sit and think back about this weekend and again I weep.  To see the outpouring of grief and love that I witnessed makes me realize how many people not just loved you, but realized how truly special you were.  Not just your family and your friends, but people who simply knew your family and friends and had heard about Kevin.  Like your mom, I think back to past times...you were the 1st baby I ever held in my mere 15 years at that time...the 1st diaper I ever changed...my 1st nephew.  I think back to He-Man and Battlecat (and that school picture) and burning a hole in Grandma Watson's carpet....they had trusted me to watch you after a volleyball game and I would rather burn my dinner than you fall off that couch!  What saddens me the most is that I don't think you truly realized what you could do with your life and what you had to offer this world...some of us will probably ponder that for a long time.  Kevin, you were somethin', somethin' truly special...and I will miss you dearly.  As I explained to Kimberly when she asked me how God could do this, I said that sometimes God has to take someone to be with him because that person can do more good there than they were able to do with us.  Rest now Kevin and never forget how much you were loved.

To my precious son Kevin. You were my first born, my only son. I treasure every minute we had together even though God took you too soon. I think about the day you were born. That was one of the happiest days of my life. You were so tiny, so beautiful, so dependent on your Dad and I to take care of you. From that day on you were my whole life. Your grandparents loved you so much. When PaPaw Bailey knew you were coming over he would go to the store and buy you cheese balls and orange pop. Grandma Bailey would make you soppin' gravy & biscuits. PaPaw Watson would give you anything you wanted & took you to the VFW and the Moose club to show you off to his friends. Grandma Watson cooked anything you wanted and always had your favorite sacks. Your Great Grandma Huth always had cookies in her cookie jar. I will never forget when Great Grandpa Huth was home dying of cancer and I went to visit him one day and he told me that you rode your bike down there to visit with him. He cried as he told me that. It really touched him that you did that. He said he's a 14 year old boy and not too many boys that age would go visit their sick Grandpas but you did. He kept telling me what a good boy you were. It made me cry because I was so proud of you. They all spoiled you. As you grew, I stood back and watched. I watched you when you went to kindergarten. After you got on that big, yellow school bus I cried and cried. It felt like you didn't need me anymore. But that wasn't the case. You were just beginning another chapter in your life. As you grew more, the elementary school sent me a letter telling me you were “gifted.” And of course, Mom cried again. You were so very smart and so very intelligent. School came so easily to you that it actually bored you. As you grew older, it was just you, me and Jess you always helped me run the house. We made decisions together. You helped me buy tires, helped me with car repairs, helped me when something broke in the house and helped me with your sisters Jessie and Kimberly. I was so proud of you for all that and of course it made me cry. Your sisters loved you so very much. I remember one Christmas when I tried to put together a baby buggy for Kimberly and I am not mechanically inclined at all and it ended up being so bad that the next day we had to go buy a new one and you put it together for me! On May 20, 2006 Tom and I got married. I wish you could have been there. I know you always worried about me being alone. But I know after you met Tom you know what a wonderful man he is and you know that he treats me and your sisters very special. He is the love of my life, my soul mate. God sent him to me.When Kimberly was little she asked where did Tom come from? I told her Jesus sent him to us. Several weeks later, she did something and Tom yelled at her and she told me that she was going to send him right back to Jesus! On November 30, 2010, your beautiful baby girl Laci was born. Just watching you hold that beautiful baby daughter of yours made me cry. I am so glad you got to spend 2 years with her. I will tell her and tell her what a wonderful Daddy she had. I will also tell your new baby the same when he or she gets here in July. It is so unfair that he or she will never get to be held by her Daddy. I will help their beautiful Mom Sarah as much as I can. She is such a wonderful Mom, Kevin. You sure picked a good one there. Sarah loves you so much and I know you loved her too. I truly wish that you two could have spent the rest of your lives together and raise your babies. Just know that she will always be my family and I will always take care of her and all the babies as best that I can. Laci has a wonderful Grandma Eileen as well. What can I say about her? She raised Sarah and what a fantastic job she did!  At least I have them two babies left and they are a part of you. I will hug them extra tight for you their Daddy. I could go on and on about all the good times but there's probably not enough room. I will miss you my son more than you will ever know or anyone can even imagine because in my heart you will always be my baby. And yes Mom is crying again but this time I can't stop. I will love you always and forever………………………………Mom.
