Katherine C Bauman

Katherine C. Bauman, 94, was born in Akron, Oh on January 18, 1927. Her parents were the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Geiger) Schopper of Tallmadge. She died on June 4, 2021 at Vista Veranda in Ravenna. She was a Kent State High graduate of the class of '45.

She was preceded in death by her husband William C. Bauman; brothers Henry (Norma), William (Marion), John (Betty), Dan and Joseph Schopper; sister Margaret Kester as well as granddaughter Samantha Bauman.

Katie always had faith and after moving their dairy farm from Tallmadge to Edinburg, became a member of Edinburg United Church and joined the Homemaker's Club. She loved cooking, gardening, helping on the farm and being creative with crafts.

Her daughters: Judy (Dick) Stephens (Aaron and Sarah) of Van Buren, Sandra (David) Gorham (Kristine, Jason, Eric) of Atwater and Donna (Derek) Fasig of Brimfield.

Sons: Mike (Barbara) of Edinburg (Michael, Jamie, Katie) and Billy Bauman (Tracy and Julianne) of Minerva. Great-grandchildren: Corey, Audrey, Emma, Jolie, Jayne, Jacoby, Jasper, Angel, Leelan and Meredith.

A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.

The family would like to thank the Memory Care unit of Vista Veranda (also Brookdale) and Hospice for the great care she received. It was a slow decline after her diagnosis of dementia and they made it much easier for her.
