He was born August 27, 1934, in Youngstown, Ohio, to parents Evelyn (Gustafson) and John David Liddle Jr, and was loving raised by Martha (Elswick) Liddle. He was always known as “Jack”, and retired from Sears as a service technician in 1997. Jack proudly served in the US Air Force during the 1950’s. He was a former member of the Ravenna Masonic Lodge, Ravenna American Legion, and Ravenna Moose.
Jack loved everything Western, and also enjoyed riding horses. He loved to dance and go to family gatherings. In his later years, Jack became an avid Cleveland sports fan, always keeping up with the Browns, Cavs, and Indians.
He is survived by his three sons: Greg (Tammie) Liddle Sr., James Liddle Sr., and Curtiss Liddle Sr.; his grandchildren: Mary Lynn (Rich) Uphold, Greg Liddle Jr., Shane (Staci) Liddle Sr., Cythera (Steve) Liston, James (Shauna) Liddle Jr., Andrew Liddle, Curtiss Liddle Jr., Amber Riter, Shay (Brady) Scott, and Charity Liddle. Jack’s memory will also be cherished by his 20 great-grandchildren, his brother James Liddle, and brother-in-law Paul Kunar.
Jack was preceded in death by his mother Evelyn Liddle, father and step mother John Liddle Jr. and Martha (Elswick) Liddle, son David Lee Liddle, and sister Glenda Kunar.
Friends will be received Sunday, February 22, 2015, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Gary Beck on Monday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow with military honors provided by VFW Post 1055 and the US Air Force Honor Guard.
