Jean L. Sigel

Jean was born February 20, 1930, to Ferne & George Willems in Kenosha WI. After moving to Kent, OH, she met her beloved husband Charles L. Sigel Jr., whom she married on July 3, 1953. They resided in Kent for the next 71 years.

Jean was a very kind, caring woman who always had a smile on her face. She was a devoted member of The Order of the Eastern Star for 70 years. She enjoyed camping, spending time planting her hydrangeas and tending to her favorite Christmas cactus. She was also an avid lover of the daily crossword puzzles, hosting family holiday dinners, watching Lawrence Welk & Wheel of Fortune every evening. Her smile and joy will forever be a part of our wonderful memories.

She is survived by her sons Kenneth J. Sigel of Streetsboro, OH and Gregory L. Sigel (Mary Heeter) of Kent, Ohio. Also survived by her 6 grandchildren, Gregory L. Sigel II (Caprice) of Portage Lakes OH, Jody Sigel of Southington OH, Melissa Litten of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Megan Sigel of Streetsboro, OH, & Tanya & Kristy Finney of Oregon. Jean is also survived by her nieces Debbie (Joe) Nicodemus, Diane (Glenn) Rhykerd, Sandy & Nancy of Pennsylvania, 5 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson & special lifelong friend & neighbor Kathy Hart.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles and son Richard Finney. Per Jean’s wishes, no services will be held. Cremation has taken place, and inurnment will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent, OH.
