Spencer, WV, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 28, 2025.
Janet worked for many years at the Portage County Administration building, retiring in 2004.
She enjoyed many activities such as her Tuesday night Women’s bowling league, monthly
Friday night dinners with her retired coworkers, family gatherings at the holidays and
hosting an annual celebration of the Ravenna Balloon-A-Fair at her home. She loved her yearly birthday treat of a German Chocolate cake and scratch off lottery tickets.
Janet is survived by her brother Edward (Sharon) Goodwin of Foley, AL, sister Patricia Payne
of Berkeley Springs, WV, and sister-in-law Chris Goodwin of Uniontown, OH. She is also
survived by her 4 daughters, Debi (Michael) Mallon of Franklin, TN, Sherrie (Dan Hensley)
Natcher of Ravenna, OH, Anita (Leonard) McAlister of Commerce, GA, and Johanna Moore
of Newton Falls, OH. As well as her many grandchildren, Christopher (Jen Solima) Mallon of
Nashville, TN, Megan (Aaron) Hoehn of Hixon, TN, Sean (Carrie) Mallon of Indianapolis, IN,
Braiden (Annie) Mallon of Hohenwald, TN, Jarad Granc of Ravenna, OH, Brittany (Dennis)
Nutter of Ravenna, OH, Candace Granc (Kenny Ferron) of Hohenwald, TN, Morgan Granc of
Ravenna, OH, Cassidy (Michael) Moore of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Chelsea (Auston) Reaser of
Streetsboro, OH, Shanna McAlister of Athens, GA, Sandy (Chris) Finley of Blue Ridge, GA,
Scott (Melinda) McAlister of Commerce, GA, and Dion (Jessica) Prisby of Akron, OH. In
addition she is survived by 25 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and many
loving nieces, nephews and family friends.
Janet is preceded in death by her husband Billy Wendell, former husband John Parker,
sister Susie Stewart, and brother Larry Goodwin.
Janet was a wonderful woman who will be missed by all that knew her.
Private family graveside service will be held at Grandview Memorial Park.
The family will be hosting a celebration of life to honor Janet at 1pm on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at
the Ravenna Elk’s Club, 776 N. Freedom St., Ravenna. Please join us to share stories and
