Jack was a lifelong resident of Ravenna, born to Allen Wade and Dorothy (Hendrix) Pittman. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Gary (Gayla) of Ravenna.
Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was a friend to many and never knew a stranger.
Jack was a meat cutter for 30 years. After retiring, he owned and operated a small dump truck. During those retirement years, Jack developed an interest in restoring antique tractors. After restoring several makes of tractors, his pride and joy was his 1948 Farmall HV, which he proudly drove in the Ravenna Memorial Day parade and Balloon-A-Fair parades. He also took it to many tractor shows and won many awards.
He never lost his love for tractors, but decided to venture down another road. He bought a 1964 Chevy Nova and turned it into a very loud gasser hot rod and named it “All Jacked Up”. Through these hobbies, we met and made great friendships.
He and Charlene enjoyed many winters in Florida where they enjoyed the warm weather and great times with friends.
Jack is survived by his wife of 34 years, Charlene, and his brother Ed (Ginger). Also surviving is his daughter Lori of Cuyahoga Falls, sons Rob (Ruth), Steven (Linda) of Surgoinsville, TN, Ken Pittman (Laura) of Ravenna and step-son Jim Geary (Heather) of Butler, TN. He will be missed by his 10 grandchildren Patrick Montgomery, Ryan (Nourhan) Pittman, Bobbie (Lacey) Pittman, Ray Pittman, Micah Pittman, Caleb McKitrick, and Caleb Pittman. Surviving also are 3 step-grandchildren Josh (Jen) Geary, Courtney Geary, Campbell Geary and 5 great-grandchildren Kelcey Pittman, Kane Pittman, Alayna Pittman, Jonah Sanders and Gabriel Pittman.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses who provided compassionate care for Jack, especially Isaiah in the 7th floor and Trevor, Kathy and Jeff in the ICU unit.
Friends will be received at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St, Ravenna, on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 11am until the 1pm memorial service officiated by Ken Pittman.
