Helen Faye Slack Buchanan

She was born June 6, 1928, in Alliance, Ohio, to parents Dean and Julia (Kump) Slack. Helen was a member of the Edinburg United Church and the Order of Eastern Star – Palmy Chapter. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and making crafts. Helen also liked fishing and spending time at her cottage in Leesville. She always loved music, and in her later years, enjoyed dancing.

Helen is survived by her children: Robert (Sandy) Buchanan, Janice (Lynn) Kent, Bill (Sherrie) Buchanan, Thomas Buchanan, and Carol (Jim) Lamb, as well as her brother Dana (Pat) Slack. Helen’s memory will also be cherished by her seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Buchanan on May 30, 2011, her parents, and her brothers Bruce and Gerald Slack.

Friends will be received Thursday, June 18, 2015, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, and also on Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Pastor Gary Koerth will officiate the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Edinburg Cemetery.
