Gerald "Jerry" S. Hargett Sr.

Jerry was born on August 26, 1949 in Akron, Ohio to parents Stanley and Josephine (Hurst) Hargett. Jerry was retired after a 50 plus year career as a self-employed general contractor. In his spare time, he enjoyed his association with the Gold Prospector’s Club in Pennsylvania, hunting and fishing, especially ice fishing and loved his pets.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 40 years, Barbara (Burton) Hargett and his children Jerry (Alexa) Hargett, Brad (Andi) Tucker, Dusty (Jason) Hargett-Cottrill and Brian (Stephanie) Tucker. He also leaves his loving grandchildren Cody (Erin) Hargett, Tori (Tyler) Trbovich, Ayla Hargett, Joshua Tucker, Isabelle Tucker, Ryanna Leasure, Macie Tucker and one great-grandson due in November. His siblings Linda (Jim) Kutinsky and Daniel (Michelle) Cutlip along with loving nieces and nephews also survive him.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brothers David Hargett and Jack Hargett.

Friends will be received at the Wood-Kortright- Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 East Main Street, Ravenna, Oh. 44266 on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, from 11am until the funeral service, officiated by Pastor Scott Hindel, beginning at 12pm. Interment will follow at Silver Springs Cemetery in Stow.
