He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Mary; his loving children, Nancy and her husband Joseph, and Gary and his wife Katie; and his cherished grandchildren, Nicholas (Allyson), Isabel, Jerry (Lexi), Ava, Taylor, and his little buddy Sophie. His grandchildren were his pride and joy.
Gary dedicated more than 20 years of his life to serving the community as the Director of the Randolph Suffield Atwater Food Shelf. His unwavering commitment to helping those in need left an indelible mark on countless lives. Under his leadership, the food shelf expanded its reach and impact, becoming a beacon of hope and support for families in difficult times. Gary’s kindness, generosity, and tireless work have made a lasting difference in the community he loved so dearly.
In addition to his service, Gary will be remembered for his warmth, his sense of humor, and his deep love for his family, especially his grandchildren. His legacy of compassion and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew him.
A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Randolph Suffield Atwater Food Shelf in Gary’s memory, to continue his mission of supporting those in need.
