Frederick White, of Ravenna Township, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2019.
He was born in Troy, Alabama on December 18, 1932, son of the late Frederick and Madeline (Richardson) White. He resided in Tuskegee, Alabama before relocating to Ohio and then to the Portage County area. Fred served in the Army from 1951- 1954, was stationed in occupied Japan and earned several medals. He retired from Chrysler Corp. in Twinsburg after working in several capacities for 40 years. He was a member of the UAW and a Freemason associated with a Cleveland Masonic lodge. Fred was an honest, unselfish, down to earth, hardworking man. In his spare time, he enjoyed shooting pool and fishing. He loved watching old western movies, especially those in black and white. Most of all, he loved his family and was deeply devoted to them all.
Fred is survived by his wife Candis (Loftin) and his children, Frederick (Michelle Petrilla) White Jr., Patrick White and Danny White, grandchildren Cambria Leigh and Carli’one A’mir White, many loving nieces and nephews and his beloved and spoiled dog, Barack.
In addition to his parents, Fred is preceded in death by brothers LK White and Willie White, and sister Nell Jackson.
Friends will be received on Friday, December 20, 2019 at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna from 11:00AM until the funeral service, officiated by Pastor Jonathan Davis, beginning at 12:00PM, Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
