She was born March 20, 1922, in Hiram, Ohio, to parents Carl and Marie (Urbanowicz) Taylor. Elsie had a long career as a nurse at Robinson Memorial Hospital. After she retired from RMH, she continued working for Dr. Webb. She was also active on the family farm, helping to raise chickens and sell their eggs.
Elsie was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish and St. Catherine’s Ladies Guild. Some of her hobbies included crafting, crocheting, and photography. Being a longtime resident of Palmyra, Elsie was affectionately known as “Elsie South” to differentiate from her sister-in-law that lived across the road.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Adam Kainrad, her brothers Ralph, Benjamin, and Richard Taylor, and her sister Edna Grosse.
She is survived by her brother Harold R. Taylor, her sister-in-law Elsie Kainrad “Elsie North”, along with generations of loving nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received Friday, September 8, 2023, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at St. Catherine Catholic Church, 1254 Grandview Rd., Lake Milton, OH 44429, with Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Reverend Dave Merzweiler at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at West Cemetery in Palmyra Township.
