Elizabeth "Libby" Frances Keys

Elizabeth Frances “Libby” (Cleveland) Keys, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving daughters. Elizabeth was born June 10, 1926 in Lisbon, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Jemescoe Cleveland.

Elizabeth married Wilbert Henry Keys in 1944. They were blessed to have 45 years together before his death in 1989. She was the mother of four daughters and one son, Wilbert Jr., who proceeded her in death.

Elizabeth loved her family, her church, her clubs and stray cats. Her hobbies included: fishing, sewing, quilting, gardening, bowling, playing cards, reading and cooking. She was “a serious cook”. She was an active volunteer in her lifelong church, Second Baptist. She supervised the church kitchen for many years. She was a member of the Senior Adult Fellowship, Senior Bible Study, and the Missionary Society. She was a founding member of The Volunteer Council. She also enjoyed her participation in The Eastern Star Mizpah Chapter #66 where she served as their Worthy Matron in 1989. She belonged to a birthday club, the Ebony Pals card club, and the Red Hatters.

Elizabeth was employed by Packard Electric for over 29 years.

She leaves to mourn four daughters: Beverly (Paul) Warfield, Theresa Strawder, Jacqueline Warren, and Deborrah Keys, eleven grandchildren, twenty nine great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers: Robert (Louise) Cleveland, Lawrence Cleveland and sisters: Shirley Cleveland and Evelyn McCreary. Also left to cherish her memory are many loving nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

The family will greet friends from 10:30am until 11:30am on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Second Baptist Church, 1510 Main St., Warren, Ohio where a memorial service will be held at 11:30am with Pastor Todd Johnson officiating.
