He was born September 1, 1932, in Leadmine, West Virginia, a son of the late Floyd E. and Mabel Viola (Martin) Jones. Dale received a Bronze Star medal while serving in the US Army during the Korean War. He was the owner and repairman for Dale’s TV in Blackhorse for many years. Mr. Jones had his private pilot’s license, and enjoyed working on electronics and boating. Most of all, he cherished the time spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his sons: Dale (Deborah) Jones Jr. and Theodore Jones; daughters: Teresa (Mark) Cales, Angela Ingram, and Wanda (David) Studer; brothers: Robert (Virginia) Jones and Eugene (Marion) Jones; sisters: Elsie (Joe) Mrozowski, Loretta Riviotta, and Joyce (George) Street; as well as 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Dale was preceded in death by his beloved wife Ellen Louise (Hunt) Jones, his son Robert Wesley Jones, his parents, his sister Betty Jenkins, and three great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Friday, September 30, 2011, from 1:00 PM until the 2:00 PM funeral service officiated by his niece, Pastor Ginger Piroch, at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, Ohio. Interment will follow with military honors at West Cemetery in Palmyra.
