He was born April 9, 1931, in Ravenna, Ohio, to parents Harry and Bessie (Royer) Wise. Charlie enlisted in the US Air Force and stationed in Texas and Alaska. He returned to Texas and graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in mechanical engineering. While in Texas, he met his future wife, Mary Sue. They were married March 29, 1956, and remained lovingly committed to each other up until her passing on April 15, 2023.
Charlie and Sue moved back to Randolph in 1962. Charlie built their home on Hartville Road, and made several renovations over the years. He enjoyed woodworking and was a skilled cabinet maker. He also enjoyed many family vacations with Sue and Steve to Lake Ivanhoe, Ontario, Canada, to fish in the beautiful lake.
Charlie was a partner with his brothers operating Wise Chevrolet Inc. He was the Service Department Manager for many years. Charlie was also an active member of the Randolph United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee.
Charlie is survived by his son Steven Lane Wise, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Bessie Wise, his wife Mary Sue Wise, his brothers: Robert (Lois) Wise, Richard (Veronica) Wise, and Russell (Mary) Wise, his father and mother-in-law Roy Lane and Opal (Alford) Williams, and his brother-in-law WB “Bob” (Jeannette) Williams.
Funeral services will be officiated by Reverend James Lang on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Hillside Cemetery Chapel in Randolph.
