She was born on February 15, 1948, to Elizabeth and Albert Dohar of Warren and was the first of seven children. Catherine was a lover of books and writing, music, film and performance. Some of her happiest times were at Kent State University, Trumbull Campus acting and helping with set designs. Catherine was a poet, an artist and a great storyteller.
She worked in various places but cherished the library jobs in Warren and Jackson that kept her close to books. Possessed of an extraordinary sense of humor, she was usually the life of any party she attended. In 1970, she married William Eakins and had a son Gabriel.
She is survived by her son, Gabriel Eakins (Wendy) cherished grandson, Josh; her five siblings, Maryam (Cal) Paulsen, Bill, Christopher (Michelle) Robert and Betsy (Douglas) Kehres and her cousin Dan Kelly who was more of a sibling as they grew up together.
Catherine was predeceased by her mother and father and brother Gary Dohar.
Per her wishes, cremation is being honored and an Irish wake and inurnment will be held at a later date.
