Betty M. Prater

Betty was born on August 13, 1936 in Dunham, Kentucky to the late Millard and Estell Mullins. Betty graduated from Pound High School in Pound, Virginia. Betty married James Prater on December 26, 1958. They had three sons. Ronald (Deceased), James (Terri) and Thomas (Michelle). Five Grandchildren: Jessie (Rachel), Sarah, Christian (Renae), Courtney and Colden. Three step-grandsons; Chase, Cody and Blake. Betty has three great-granddaughters: Kaylyn, Lilly, Cali and two step-great-grandsons: Matthew and Tyler.

Betty had special friends Helen, Rose, Tammy, Teresa and a loving cousin Judy who will miss her very much.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Rev. Ray Mullins, and her loving husband James Prater.

Betty was a member of the Brady Lake Freewill Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She was a great prayer warrior and enjoyed reading her bible. Betty was a homemaker for most of her life and enjoyed spending time with her family. Betty retired from Hills Department store.

Friends will be received at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM where funeral services, officiated by Rev. Virgil Elkins will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, October 22nd. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery.
