Bertha was born in Randolph, Ohio on January 20, 1920 to parents John and Alice Climes. She graduated in 1938 from Randolph High School and was the class valedictorian. She married Paul Huth on November 30, 1942 and proceeded to raise nine children in the Randolph home that Paul built. After raising her children, Bertha worked as a nurse’s aide at Robinson Memorial Hospital and retired at the age of 79. Bertha was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Randolph. Over the years she enjoyed bowling and bingo and was active in many euchre clubs in Randolph and Ravenna. She liked to travel, enjoyed crossword puzzles & poker, and had a fondness for scrabble. Bertha was a member of the Randolph Senior Citizens and was Queen of the Randolph Red Hot Mamas.
Bertha is survived by her children: Margaret (John) Francis of Randolph, Stanley (Sandy) Huth of Ravenna, John (Bev) Huth of Randolph, George (Lynn) Huth of Akron, Walter Huth of Randolph, Rose (Robert) Fathauer of Mantua, Barb (Tom) Biltz of Rootstown and Paul Huth of Randolph. Surviving also are her 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul, her son Tom, grandson Matthew and her sister Gladys Goodyear.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Ed Wieczorek and Fr. James Lang on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 11:30am at St. Joseph Church, 2643 Waterloo Rd., Randolph, Oh. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
