Barbara was born on February 19, 1938 in Copley, Ohio to parents Homer and Jessie (Combs) Curry. She had been a custodian in the Rootstown Schools and retired after more than 35 years of service. Barbara enjoyed her work and especially all of the kids over the years. She would hurry up with her work so she could run down to the shop windows and watch the baseball team play. Barbara would also pay all of the wrestlers $1.00 for every pin they made. She was truly loved by all of the students. She made everybody laugh and was everyone’s “mom”. Her door was always open to anyone and she helped many people over the years get through tough times. Barbara was also very crafty, artistically talented and was known by many as “The Cake Lady”. She also spent two years in the Rootstown Giant Eagle bakery, baking and decorating customer’s cakes. In her spare time she enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre.
Barbara is survived by her children Roberta “Bobbie” (Ken) Starkey, William “Bill” Hilty, and Karen (Brian) Jenior. She is also survived by her beloved granddaughter Bella Jenior, and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Jean, Mary, Robert “Buck” and Enid.
