Barbara E. Delin

Barbara was born on June 22, 1941, in Warren, OH, to the late Raymond O'Dell Lee and Elizabeth Mae (Fisher) Lee. She grew up in Paris Township, and attended Southeast High School where she was a cheerleader. She later pursued her passion for hairdressing at Riggs Le Mar Beauty College and became a cosmetologist. She met her future husband, David H. Delin, while waiting on him at the Isaly’s Restaurant counter in downtown Ravenna. They were married on October 15, 1960 at Immaculate Conception Church.

Barbara loved to sew for family and friends. She recently put her skills to good use for her grandchildren's weddings making the dresses for the bride and flower girls. Later on in life, she caught the quilting bug and enjoyed many hours piecing at her sewing machine. She liked to fish for bass, crappie, and bluegill at Muzzv Lake, Pymatuning, West Branch and catching salmon in New York. She fried countless fish and hush puppies to the delight of her family. Barbara owned several Ravenna businesses throughout her lifetime - one being White Swan Beauty Salon for 40 years and did hair for many of the starlets that came to the Carousel Dinner Theatre to perform. She also worked at Ametek-Lamb Electric and Sam’s Club.

Barbara is survived by her husband David of 63 years, She was a devoted mother to her children, Debra (John) Houck, Tammie (Ralph) Reaser, Shane (Mary Jo) Delin, Tracy Moore (Thomas Parr), and Hallie (Gary) Benden. Barbara was also a cherished grandmother to Marshall (Christina) Houck, Auston (Chelsea), Gavin, and Logan Reaser, Korey (Hiroko), Jonathan, and Elizabeth Kunze (Nick Moore), Scott (Liz) Adams, Nicole (Tony) Vectirelis, Zachary Delin (Hannah McDonald), MiKayla, Donald (Aubrey), Matthew (Madison), and Grace Moore, Thomas Parr Jr., Lorna and Owen Benden. Twelve great-grandchildren also survive her. Barbara is survived also by her step-brother Charles “Rick” (Aleta) Lee and sisters-in-laws Charlene Lee, Shirley Lee, and Jean Lee, as well as generations of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Raymond, Gerald, and Paul Lee and her daughter Kandy Kunze.

Private family funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home of Ravenna, OH. Inurnment will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery.
