She was born in Ravenna on June 12, 1959. She was a graduate of Ravenna High School, and worked for many years at Little Tikes in Hudson.
Barb loved her dog and companion, Frankie! She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, and watching TV. Back in her best days, she enjoyed gardening, hiking and going to drive-in movies. She was a good artist. Her personality was very witty and fun!
Barbara was the daughter of Jeannette Hamilton Doerfler, and the Late Walter Alcorn.
She is survived by her mother Jeannette (James) Doerfler, sisters Rebecca (John) Wachovec, and B.J. Seabolt, step-brothers Daniel (Beth) Simone, Earl Simone, Jim (Jamie) Doerfler, and step-sister Susan (Rick) Fischer, as well as her nieces and nephews: Michelle (Jeff) Bonomo, Stephanie Banks, Caitlyn (Mike) Appleman, Alex Wachovec, and Patrick Simone, along with grand nieces and nephews: Ashley, Austin, Adam and Cory Banks, Bailey Jursik, and Leo Bonomo. She also leaves step-mother Joann Alcorn, half-brother and half-sister Jeff and Kristina Alcorn.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Buddy Alcorn, nephew Nicholas Barnhart, grandparents Harold and Margaret Hamilton, and step-father Dominic Simone.
A special thanks to her friends Mercedes and Sam, also her home health nurse, and friend Debbie Callahan.
Barb’s legacy lives on through the gift of eye and tissue donation through Life Banc. Cremation has taken place, a celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date with burial at St. Mary Cemetery. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.wood-kortright-borkoski.com.
