Ann was born in Ravenna, Ohio, the only child of Raymond and Lola Heller. She trained to be a nurse at Akron City Hospital’s Nursing School. Ann was a compassionate, kind, and loving person, who spent her life serving others. She worked at Robinson Memorial Hospital for 26 years before retirement, and also served the City of Ravenna as Health Nurse until retiring after 23 years.
Ann is survived by her husband Waldo, and her daughters Laurie (Neil) and Tracy. She devoted her life to her daughters, showing them all of the wonders and possibilities of this world. Ann enjoyed traveling, and her favorite trips were through the Panama Canal and a Paddlewheel trip down the Mississippi. Her love of animals brought them as much joy as they did her. She volunteered at Children’s Hospital with Fatso and Other Dog on the Doggie Brigade.
Friends will be received from 5-8 PM Tuesday, June 28, 2011, and from 12:00 – 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Carol Evans at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Ann’s family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the numerous healthcare professionals who assisted her throughout her illness.
