Amber was born in Westlake, Ohio to parents Kenneth P. Armstrong and Geneve L. Armstrong. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies and Theatre from Huntington University. Amber had a passion for theatre, and frequently attended musicals & plays that were part of the Broadway Series at Playhouse Square, to which she and her mother, Genny were subscribers.
Amber was a member of Hope Community Church, which she considered her second family. She had the heart of a servant, and she served her church in many ways, serving in Children’s Ministry, both in the nursery and teaching and directing school age children in games and activities. She participated in various dramatic activities, acting in a large annual outreach production and in skits on Sunday morning, and most recently serving on the tech team, helping ensure seamless presentation of services, both live and livestream. She had the gift of being able to love people of any age, from the tiniest child to the elderly. She had friends of all ages.
Amber was always concerned with helping people meet basic needs. She worked at Laura’s Home, a branch of the City Mission, where she developed a passion for assisting women and their children to secure stable homes. Most recently, she worked for PorchLight Rental & Destination Services, assisting people with finding homes, often in remote places and sometimes in dire situations. Her co-workers are grieving the loss of her professionalism and kindness, as well as her friendship.
Missions was a passion of Ambers. As a teenager, she went on a Missions Trip to Ecuador, serving there in a women’s prison. She was looking forward to a trip to Africa in 2024, to serve in orphanages.
Amber is survived by her mother, Genny, and her sisters Elizabeth & Julie, and brothers Nathan, Joshua, and Kenneth II.
She was predeceased by her father, Ken Armstrong.
