Wylanta "Wyl" J. Mason

Wylanta J. Mason, "Wyl", 77, of Raleigh, NC passed away at her home on July 18th, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. Wyl was born on August 10, 1943 in Pittsburgh, PA. She had lived in Raleigh since 1980.

Wyl was preceded in death by her mother, Wylanta R. Mason and her father, Walter H. Mason; and her uncle, Frank H. Mason.

Surviving are her soulmate and best friend, Ron Wigston; her son, Alex Podobinski and his wife Randi Podobinski, and their son, Bryce Podobinski; her daughter, Nanta Podobinski, and her children, Justin Tew and Kyle Tew; her brother, Danny Mason and his wife, Karen; her nephews, Scott Mason, Bennett Mason; her niece Lyndsey Mason; her aunt, Anne Mason; and her cousin, Arden Mason

She loved her family and friends and everyone loved her. She made friends easily and everyone wanted to be like her, strong and independent. Wyl loved life and lived it to the fullest every day. She enjoyed nature, watching birds, growing flowers, riding her Harley and siting by the ocean watching the waves and sunsets.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 23rd from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by a service to celebrate her life beginning at 2:00 pm in the chapel at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 Saint Mary's Street., Raleigh.

We will then travel to the mausoleum at Raleigh Memorial Park, for the entombment of her ashes.

In her honor we would like to invite anyone that would like to ride their motorcycle to accompany Wyl on her last ride.
