Bill was born in Peoria, IL. Growing up his family moved often. Bill was a lifelong scholar. He was an amazingly non-judgemental person. He believed in taking good care of our planet. He loved classical music and playing bridge and chess.
Bill attended Deep Springs College in California and then transferred to the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. There he met his future wife, Delilah Little. He graduated from UVA with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Bill received a Master’s degree in Experimental Psychology at Princeton University and a PhD in Experimental Psychology at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Bill and Delilah were married on June 1, 1963 at the University of Virginia Chapel.
For all of his 84 years, Bill cherished his family. He was the son of the late Allan F. Turpin and the late Elinore Scheibe Turpin. Bill was predeceased by his sister, Susan Gale Turpin. He is survived by his wife Delilah Little Turpin, their son George Bradley Turpin and his wife Kathleen, their grandsons Joshua Turpin (Brittany) and Isaac Turpin (Christine), their great-grandson Thaddeus Turpin, and Bill’s brother Allan F. Turpin, Jr.

Bill’s memorial service will be at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home at 300 Saint Mary’s Street on Thursday, July 20 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be sent to Deep Springs College (HC 72 Box 45001 Dyer, NV 89010) or the charity of their choice.
