Bill was born on January 9, 1938 to the late William O. Campbell and Esther L. Campbell of Dayton, Ohio. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Carol Campbell; his son Michael (Ivy) of Hockessin, DE and daughter Julie Boruff (Scott) of Knoxville, TN. In addition to his wife and children, Bill is also survived by his six loving grandchildren; Caroline Galluch (David) of Newtown Square, PA, William Campbell, Jr. of Charleston, SC, Kelly Olivastro (Joey) of Naples, FL, Emily Woodworth (Wade) of Charlotte, NC, Michael Kentfield (Carolynne) of Charlotte, NC, Lauren Kentfield of Nashville, TN and four great-grandchildren; Olivia and Sophia Olivastro and Blaire and Paige Woodworth.
Bill graduated from Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio. He then began his career with DuPont’s Electronics division. After Bill’s retirement from DuPont he started Benchmark, a home inspection company, where he worked until 2019. He was a passionate fan of Duke Blue Devils basketball and Tennessee Volunteers football. First and foremost, Bill treasured spending time with family and cherished the memories he made with them. Bill will be deeply missed and remembered by his family.
A celebration of life is Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh NC 27609.
