William Brice Ayers

William Brice Ayers, 93, of Raleigh, passed away on September 24, 2016. Mr. Ayers was preceded in death by his wife, Helen S. Ayers, and his sister, Sara Ayers Bagby. Mr. Ayers is survived by his sister, Anne Ayers Hames of Union, SC; his four daughters, Lynn Lamb (Phil) of Winston Salem, NC; Gail Ayers of Saxapahaw, NC; Annette Hoskins of Hickory, NC; Trish Dean (Jody) of Winston Salem, NC; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Mr. Ayers was a WW II veteran, serving in the US Army/ South Pacific theater. After the war, he earned a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech in 1948, followed by a 39 year career with IBM Corporation. After his retirement, he became involved with the North Carolina-Cochabamba, Bolivia chapter of Partners of the Americas, and was recognized for his exceptional and sustained contributions to the organization.

Funeral service will be held Monday, Oct. 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 120 E. Edenton St., Raleigh, NC 27601. Interment will immediately follow at the church.
