Virginia Clark Nicar

She was born in Bryson City, NC to the late David and Edith Clark.

She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Charles Nicar; her husband, Luther “Nick” Nicar; her brothers Clay Clark, Cash Clark, Lyle Clark, Ray Clark, and her sister, Pauline Clark Buchanan. She is survived by her daughter, Libby Emswiler and husband Emmette; granddaughter Jennifer Fowler and husband, Kevin; grandson David Emswiler and wife, Nicole; great-granddaughters, Madison and Harper Fowler; great grandsons, John, Seth and Luke Emswiler; and many nieces and nephews.

Virginia was a longtime resident of Roanoke, VA, an elementary school teacher for thirty years, and an active member of her church and community. She loved to teach children, rock babies, and spend time with family and friends. Known for her generosity and sincere concern for others, she was loved by everyone she met.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Providence Baptist Church, Raleigh, NC at 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 3:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Baptist Church of Raleigh, NC or Duke Hospice.
