Thomas “Tommy” Joseph McMillan, Jr., 70, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 19, 2017. Born on August 6, 1946 in Raleigh; he was the son of the late Thomas Joseph McMillan, Sr. and Ruby Kitts McMillan. Tommy graduated from Broughton High School and served honorably in the US Army. He retired after 30 years from the Postal Service and operated McMillian Concessions. Tommy enjoyed hunting and fishing on his free time.
He is survived by his sister: Susan McMillan Kearney; his companion: Brenda Lewis; an aunt, cousins and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law: Hilliard Kearney.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 25th from 1-3 pm at Mitchell Funeral Home (7209 Glenwood Avenue), with Funeral Services to begin at 3 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
