Sybil Colclough Parker of Raleigh went home to be with the Lord Friday evening, September 14th, with her three children by her bedside.
Raised in the Berea Community near Oxford, Sybil’s pride and joy was her family. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Richard Parker of Raleigh; daughter Lisa Parker Whitfield and son-in-law Ralph Whitfield; daughter Lynn Parker Bolton of Raleigh and husband William Bolton, IV, and grandsons William and Weslyn; and son Richard Parker, Jr. of Alexandria, Virginia, and daughter-in-law Mala Parker. She is also survived by her brothers Claiborne McVay Colclough of Berea, James Hobgood of Oxford, and Clifton Hobgood of Satellite Beach, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to Hospice of Wake County.
Funeral services will be held at the White Memorial Presbyterian Church Chapel on Tuesday at 1 p.m., with a private graveside service following. The family will receive visitors at Mitchell Funeral home on Glenwood Avenue this evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
