Susan was born at Rex Hospital to Bruce Melvin Poole Jr. and Dorothy Leonard Poole on November 20, 1951. She attended school at Broughton High School and Peace College. She married Earl Eugene Whitmire on August 14, 1998 in Charleston, SC.
Susan is preceded in death by her mother Dorothy Poole, her father Bruce Poole Jr. and her brother Richard Poole.
Susan is survived by her husband, her daughter Brittany Bland, son Jason Watkins, her brother Thomas Poole and her puppies, Minnie, Allie and Jake.
The celebration of life will be held at Brown-Wynne funeral home at 1701 East Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27609. A visitation will be on Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will occur Friday, May 19, 2023 at 11:00 AM. A graveside service will subsequently occur at Raleigh Memorial Park , 7501 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612.
