Steven Mitchell

Steven R. Mitchell was a man blessed by everything on heaven and earth. On July 18, he parted this earth while enjoying the beauty of mountain roads and the thrill of the wind while riding his Harley. His wife, Sherry, was the love of his life and his best friend. He loved family and friends with incredible passion. Everyone relied on Mitchell anytime they needed help. He was there to pound nails, cook for the troops, help with a celebration or just be a friend to lift you up when needed.

He graduated from ECU in biology and worked in State Government for 33 years protecting our environment. As a member of the Masonic Fraternity, he practiced relief, brotherly love and truth. Under the brotherhood of man and the fatherhood of God.

He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Betty Lou Mitchell and cousin Mary Lou Sinwell. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Sherry Pridgeon Mitchell; father Francis R. Mitchell married to Dorothy of Mount Laurel, NJ; brothers, Stuart and wife Alexis of Cherry Hill, NJ, Scott and wife Donna of Neptune, NJ; sister, Stacy Garofalo and husband John of Marlton, NJ.; step-brother, Cristopher Sefransky of Westampton, NJ; sister-in-law, Vickie Bowles and brother-in-law, Monty Pridgeon and wife Lee; numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews, cousins, godchildren and lifelong friends.

Services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 1:00pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 Saint Mary's St., Raleigh. A celebration of his life will follow at Player's Retreat, 105 Oberlin Rd, Raleigh.
