Sharon Marie Benedik McGuiness

Sharon Marie McGuiness unexpectedly entered into Our Father’s Kingdom on 9 March, 2014. She was a beautiful and devoted mother, wife, sister and daughter. Born in 1965 in Silver Spring, Maryland, she was a long-time resident of the Raleigh area.

A professional IT recruiter for many years, she enhanced the lives of many people throughout the US.

She dedicated her life to those less fortunate than she – especially animals – and spent long hours volunteering with a variety of animal rescue groups in Wake and Franklin counties. She is survived by her daughters Sierra Marie Mondin and Marissa Nicole Mondin; her adoring husband Timothy McGuiness; her brothers Thomas Benedik, Stephen Benedik and Vincent Benedik; her sisters Linda Benedik and Deborah Hildebrand; her father Thomas Benedik and was preceded in death by her beloved mother Lavaughn Benedik.

Services are being held at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church at 5801 Falls of Neuse Road in Raleigh, NC, on Friday, 14 March at 11:30 AM. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10:30 in the atrium of the church, and there will be a reception after the service in the Lewis Room at the church.

Sharon requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Society for the Protection of Animals (ASPCA).
