Sharon Rose Donnald

Sharon was born in Ahoskie, NC, and raised in Raleigh, NC, graduating from Enloe High School. Sharon received her bachelors degree from UNC-Charlotte, continuing her studies at Southeastern Seminary. She was employed for years in the Durham public library system, allowing her to grow her love for reading and books. After leaving the public library, she worked with the State Employee's Credit Union serving as financial officer, licensed insurance agent, and tax preparer, retiring after 26 years of service. She also worked for many years as a Precinct Judge with the Wake County Board of Elections.

Sharon was an active, longtime member of Ridge Road Baptist Church, serving as Treasurer, Clerk, and Sunday School Teacher. She was involved with several committees within the church during this time, and was a member of the Seekers Sunday School Class. Sharon prepared many meals for bible studies and dishes for events at the church. She enjoyed helping anyone in need, wether it was taking someone to the grocery store, or to appointments, and had a soft spot in her heart for the sick and less fortunate. Her 'card' ministry was well known and provided many with a touch of hope.

Mrs. Donnald enjoyed clothing and fashion, shoes, handbags and jewelry, and was always looking her best. Sharon was very detailed and meticulous, enjoying hosting Holiday parties and dinners. She was always bringing gifts to friend's events - wedding showers, baby showers, birthdays, and anniversaries, to name a few.

Sharon is survived by her husband of 31 years, David Nicholas Donnald of Raleigh.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sophia Pearce Ferguson, and her husband, Newton Ferguson.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 1:00pm at Ridge Road Baptist Church, 2011 Ridge Road, Raleigh, with Dr. Trey Davis, and Dr. Randy Sherron officiating. Burial will follow in Raleigh Memorial Park.
