Samuel Poole Hamilton, 84, of Raleigh, passed away on December 25, 2020. Samuel was a graduate of Cary High School, remaining active in the White Imp Club of the 50’s over the years. In his career and life, Samuel always remained active and never slowed down. He began his career working for Woolworths Department Store, then eventually Woolco, which brought him all around the United States. He went on to start Hamilton Landscapes that he owned and operated until his retirement. Following retirement, Samuel started his own antiques business to stay busy, becoming a part of Vintage Village in Raleigh. He was also a devoted member of Grace Baptist Church in Wake Forest, being instrumental in the building of their new location.
Samuel is survived by his wife, Sylvia Kay Hamilton; children, Jeffrey Hamilton (Susan), Cindy Kenaston (Todd) and Sammy Hamilton; grandson, Sean Malone (Katie); great grandchildren, Russell and Molly Malone; brothers, Bobby Hamilton (Billie) and Wesley Hamilton (Barbara); and sister, Betsy Branch (Herbert). Samuel was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy Hamilton and Annie Alice Harrison Hamilton; sisters, Lib Gentry and Brenda Hunter; and brothers, Larry Hamilton and Tom Hamilton.
