Rosa Tyson Strickland, 83, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Duke Hospital. She was born August 13, 1932 in Nash Co., NC to the late Henry L. Tyson and Vivian M. Tyson. She was a faithful member of Longview Baptist Church.
Rosa was a woman who loved her family and her church.
She is survived by her loving husband, Curtis Strickland; son, Gregory (Jean) Strickland; grandson, Arron (Kristi) Strickland; granddaughter, Elizabeth (Scottie) Martin, and five great-granddaughters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Naomi T. Howe.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 1 pm-2 pm at the funeral home Sunday. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 8, 2016 at 2 pm, Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh. Burial will immediately follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
