Wilton , you were a constant figure and help to Frankie Lemmon School . We always knew who to call on when things went awry . The children could hear you coming with the jingle jangle of your keys and I was amazed that you knew everyone of the 75 plus that you carried . You always had a special way of greeting staff and friends as we got off the elevator or saw you in the halls as we were going from place to place . You were always our friend , we will miss you very much .

Mr. Wilton was one of the first people I met at Frankie Lemmon school---I had no idea how many times I would have to call on him...especially to help me with my Promethean board for my students.  I was attending a support group trying to learn how to use its software and couldn't even get it to read what I was putting on my computer. I should have went to Mr. Wilton first....in about 30 minutes he had it all figured out and taught me more than a months worth of support groups!  He will be missed!

I will remember Wilton as a caretaker to everyone around him. Whether he knew you for 10 min. or 10 years he made you feel like you mattered. I feel privileged that I knew Wilton for over 16 years, first when I worked at HBBP and later when I worked at The Frankie Lemmon School. He was a quiet giant, a talented man, and a godly example to all who knew him. He will be missed.

I attended Conway High School with Wilton. He was a great friend back in those days.  Unfortunately, we did not keep continued close contact with each other since high school.  My sincere sympathy to his family and friends.

Wilton was one of our family, even though we were not related.  I will miss seeing him at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other family gatherings. He was a good friend!

Thanks Wil for all you did for me and Trisha. My brother, my friend, I love you.

Frankie Lemmon School has lost a great friend and "hero".  We are honored to be the recipient of his memorial gifts.  Even in death, he is our special friend.  We will never be replaced.  Janet Sellers

Wilton was a true friend and family to all of us at Frankie Lemmon School. He loved the children, their families, and staff. He was always there when we needed him. He gave his time, patience, and whole heart to everyone. We will miss Wilton dearly. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I knew Wilton in high school. He was an awesome friend, driving us girls to local dances and around town for sodas and good times. I went to school in Murfreesboro but we were friends and I had not seen Wilton since graduation. I learned he lived in Raleigh! as I do, and thought one day I'd look him up .. We should do what we say we'll do. Now he is gone home .. I shall always think of him as a friend. My sympathies to his son, grandson, brother and sister and all who loved Wilton.

My Christian Sympathy in the loss of your loved one.  I worked at Hayes Barton several years ago with Wilton and what a loving and caring Christian man he was to everyone!  Remember those wonderful memories!

While fishing at Buoy #13 off Atlantic Beach, my hat blew off and we circled to retrieve it. With 'Wilton' having a gaff in hand on one side of the boat and I the other as we approached the 'hat', I looked toward Wilton only to see the bottom of his shoes as he fell over-board while reaching out for the hat. As we circled to retrieve Wilton, we hook and caught a 10lb. King Mackerel. Wilton had retrieved the hat while not loosing his own, his glasses and also the gaff!! Wilton always did a GOOD job in life with everything!! He will be remembered but not replaced !!
