Ronald Arthur Henson, 75, of Raleigh, died January 12 peacefully with surrounding family. He was born on October 5, 1940 in Taylorsville, Illinois to the late Arthur Henson and Grace Patterson Henson. He grew up in Winter Park, Florida and attended University of Florida. He became a full-fledged Gator football fan and enjoyed Saturday afternoons cheering them on. In college, he met the love of his life, his wife, Cynthia Sanford Henson, married 51 years. He is survived by his son, Brent Henson of Raleigh and 2 daughters Kimberly Henson Spitz of Charlotte, NC and Courtney Henson May of Richmond, VA; and 7 grandchildren: Mason, Jacob, Bennett, Dylan, Henry, Hensley, and Grayson. He cherished the time with family, we’re grateful to have called him husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He started his career as an attorney in Florida. In Raleigh, he worked at Golden Corral Corporation and in the Real Estate industry.
A celebration of his life will be at Hayes Barton Baptist Church on Monday, January 18.
