Ron was born in Martinsville, Virginia on June 6,1949 to Lois and Joseph Hawkins. At a young age, Ron developed a great love for hair. He set off into the world, perfecting his craft and sharing his many talents. Over the years, Ron served a diverse clientele, competed and trained in the local and world championship realm, owned a cosmetology school, received numerous awards and accolades, mentored others and was inducted into the hall of fame. A humble, honest man who was deeply devoted to his family, which was his ultimate pride and joy; his greatest accomplishment, as he would say. He lived to make others look and feel their very best. Ron leaves behind a rich legacy of inspiration, art and a passion of caring for and working with those in the cosmetology industry.
Ron is survived by his wife, Holly of Raleigh, NC, his son Chad Hawkins of Raleigh; his daughter Martha Honeycutt and husband, Colton of Ft. Rucker, AL, and other family and friends.
A celebration of life will be announced and held at a later date.
Memorials may be made in honor of Ron to The Duke Cancer Center and/or The Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation.
