Ron was born in Newark, NJ on December 23, 1946. He graduated from Irvington High school and later received a Bachelor of Science from Kean College of New Jersey. Ron enlisted in the Army and served 3 years in El Paso, Texas. He was a talented baseball player and enjoyed playing the accordion.
Ron was married to Andrea Andruchowitz on August 26, 1967. They were married for 33 years before her death in 2000. Ron lived in Piscataway, NJ where he worked for Merck Pharmaceuticals. He later moved to the Poconos and resided in Pocono Farms where he raised his family and met some of his lifelong friends. He enjoyed spending time with friends on Friday nights, watching his children’s sporting events, golfing, and skiing/snowmobiling with his family. Ron continued to work at Merck, and Sanofi until he retired. He also owned Reeses Petals and Plants of Cresco and Mt. Pocono. He loved the Poconos and made an impact on his community serving as the Vice President and member of the Board of Directors for Pocono Farms Country Club, President of the Pocono Mtn. High School Athletic boosters, President of the Mt. Pocono Rotary Club and a Coach/Director for the Tobyhanna Little League. Ron always lent a helping hand when needed, whether it was to plow a neighbor's driveway, dress as Santa to deliver presents on a snowmobile, or decorate the church with live poinsettias and Christmas trees.
Ron later moved to Clayton, NC to join his children and watch his beloved grandchildren grow up and play sports. They were his pride and joy. His most favorite moments were when his entire family gathered at his pool and spent time together. He also stayed busy volunteering his time with the Knights of Columbus and organizing its’ annual golf tournament.
Ron is survived by his 3 children, Holly Ketchum (Kevin), Adam Andruchowitz (Annie), and Tammy Greiner (Bill) and 10 grandchildren: Reagan, Amber, Will, Eryn, Andrew, Lainey, A.J., Wesley, Eli and Emily. He is also survived by his sister, Elaine Karsko of Boca Raton, FL and many adored cousins.
Ron is preceded in death by his wife, Andrea (Drotar) Andruchowitz and his parents, Anthony and Frances Andruchowitz.
The celebration of life will be held at Bolock Funeral Home (6148 Paradise Valley Rd., Cresco PA 18326) on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. Visitation will be held from 10am to the time of service. Interment to follow service with military honors at St. Catherine’s Cemetery of Moscow.
