Robin Ligon White passed away on December 9, 2020. She was the third daughter of prominent Raleigh dentist Dr. J Henry Ligon Jr. and Mrs. Anna Green Ligon. Born August 31, 1951 in Raleigh, Robin graduated from high school at Fairfax Hall in Waynesboro, VA. She was a graduate of Stratford College in Danville, VA with a BFA in Art History, and later obtained her teaching certificate from Meredith College in Raleigh, NC. Robin taught art for Granville County Schools for a number of years before retiring with the birth of her first son. As well as being passionate about the history of art and the importance of studying it, Robin was an exceptional cook and gardener. She was a long-time docent at the North Carolina Museum of Art, and a member of Hayes Barton United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her two sons, Charles Trent White of Hertford, NC and Henry Sutton White of Wake Forest, NC. Also surviving are Robin's two sisters, Patricia Ligon and Jill Heath of Raleigh, as well as a niece, Anna Thomas Heath of Charlotte, NC and a nephew, Patrick Dawson Heath of Austin, TX.
