So sorry to learn of the passing of Bob.  I had the pleasure to work with him  in his early years in Raleigh.  He was a great mentor to many of us
new employees at IBM.  We depended on him for personal as well as technical advice. It brings back great memories to think of Bob and those days at IBM !

Dear Scott and Kim, It is with great sadness that I learned of Bob's passing. Bob has been one of my best friends since the early 1970's and through the years we experienced many great times together. Indian Guides with Scott and my son Steve, business undertakings and of course many great meals together. We for many years shared our birthdays together and had the opportunity to discuss many things but most importantly Bob's and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I am sure he is with Jesus at this moment.

As a member of Benson Memorial and an usher at the early service,  Bob was always one of my favorite people to greet! What a great smile he had. We will all miss him so much..

The entire Bob Hayes family sends heartfelt condolences on the passing of your  Bob.  Your Mom & Scott were the first Birchwood Hills neighbors we met when Scott and Tom were mere babies!  We haven't seen much of our back fence neighbor in the last year, but have great memories of meals and milestones spent together.  We will certainly miss both Bob and Gracie...Our love and prayers are with Scott and his family and with Kim in this difficult time.  Hugs ! 

It was with great sadness that I learned of Bob's passing.  I met Bob many years ago at Duke's Wellness Center.  At every session we would seek each other out and talk Woodworking and our faith in Christ made up most of our conversation.  For health reasons many was the week that the Wellness Center and church were the only time I went out.  I tried not to miss either one.  I valued our conversations very much.  We exchanged woodworking projects, one of which was a cat that I gave him because he said his daughter liked cats.
   For some reason I was worried about Bob and started checking Obituaries for him only.  Once again, I will miss Bob greatly.  John Werner

Bob and Gracie were fantastic neighbors.  When I moved into the neighborhood in the '92 it was like having family around (Bob used to come over and start my mower for me in the early days).  And the cook outs they gave for the neighborhood.  I had "real"  family visiting one time, who were impressed people still did things like that.  And "even tempered with a sense of humor" that's definitely Bob.  He will be greatly missed.
